Program Description

The treatment landscape for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is evolving rapidly as the need to slow fibrosis progression and improve long-term outcomes becomes increasingly urgent. While lifestyle and cardiometabolic management remain foundational, newer and emerging pharmacologic options are expanding opportunities to individualize care. Pharmacists need to understand current guidelines to appropriately identify and stage patients, recognize which therapeutic targets are being addressed, and track where therapies are in development to anticipate how practice may change. Key challenges include translating clinical trial end points and eligibility criteria into real-world patient selection and balancing efficacy with adverse event profiles and monitoring requirements. This webinar will equip pharmacists to apply MASH treatment guidelines and deepen knowledge of approved therapies, evaluating late-stage agents and interpreting trial outcomes to translate evidence into real-world patient care. This symposium is the second in the MASLD/MASH curriculum.
