Program Description
Endometrial cancer has a poor prognosis, with a median overall survival of less than 12 months. In endometrial cancer, chemotherapeutic options have been associated with toxicity and limited efficacy, necessitating the need for target-specific and immunotherapeutic approaches. Pharmacist involvement has been shown to improve patient outcomes, reduce treatment discontinuation, and help mitigate the risk of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) associated with immunotherapy. Pharmacists are increasingly relied upon to guide treatment decisions and manage the growing complexity of cancer therapies. This session will review the latest clinical evidence for managing endometrial cancer, emphasizing biomarker-driven approaches, immune checkpoint inhibitor monotherapy, and combination strategies in recurrent or metastatic disease. Participants will also learn to address the unique challenges of optimizing patient safety and medication coordination in the real-world setting. The discussion will explore best practices for managing irAEs, determining appropriate dosing strategies, and considering tools to enhance patient education and communication.

Educational Objectives
At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Explain the role of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in advanced/metastatic endometrial cancer treatment, incorporating the latest evidence-based updates and guidelines
- Apply biomarker test results to treatment selection, escalation, and de-escalation strategies for patients with advanced or metastatic endometrial cancer
- Employ strategies to manage real-world adverse effects in ICI combination regimens for endometrial cancer, including dosing adjustments and therapy modifications
- Prioritize key considerations about the initiation of ICI-based therapies, including managing treatment duration, toxicity expectations, and follow-up care in counseling patients with endometrial cancer
