Program Description
The pathogenesis of anemia in patients with cancer is complex and multifactorial. Evaluation and treatment of patients with anemia can be challenging, especially for patients with complicated cancers, including solid tumors or hematologic malignancies. Traditional therapies used to manage anemia in patients without cancer do not have the same efficacy in patients with cancer, and understanding evidence-based strategies to overcome these challenges is necessary for the health and well-being of patients with cancer. The pharmacist's role in understanding IDA in patients with cancer is crucial, as it involves managing the underlying etiology, replenishing iron stores, and improving quality of life. This webinar will examine recommendations for identifying IDA and managing iron replacement therapies following evidence-based treatment pathways. This webinar is part of the Iron Deficiency Anemia Webinar series.
