This webinar is part 2 in a 3-part curriculum.
Program Description
Using the results from biomarker testing to guide treatment selection is a
critical step in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treatment. For oncology
pharmacists, understanding how to interpret these results ensures that patients
receive the most appropriate, safe, and effective biomarker-directed therapies.
Building on the foundation established in the first webinar in this series,
"Precision Matters: Foundations of Biomarker-Driven Care in NSCLC,"
this second webinar will offer oncology pharmacists additional guidance on how
to navigate the complexities of biomarker testing and its application in
clinical practice. The activity will cover testing pearls, including the
logistical challenges of sending samples for testing and the clinical
significance of accurately interpreting test results. Real-world implications
of precision medicine testing in NSCLC will be discussed, with a focus on
addressing common barriers to precision medicine implementation in oncology
settings to offer pharmacists potential solutions to overcome these hurdles. By
the end of this webinar, oncology pharmacists will be better equipped to
advocate for appropriate biomarker testing, interpret complex results, and take
on an expanded role in delivering targeted therapies to patients with NSCLC.
