Program Description
For many women, vasomotor symptoms (VMS) are more than a transient occurrence, as they may represent a chronic, debilitating burden that can negatively impact sleep, mental health, and professional productivity for a decade or more. Despite this high prevalence, many women still find themselves searching for relief due to contraindications to hormone therapy, safety concerns, or a lack of awareness regarding emerging alternatives. This webinar provides a critical clinical update on the shifting management landscape, anchored in the modern understanding of the KNDy neuron network as the primary driver of menopausal thermoregulatory dysfunction. New therapeutic targets have emerged that move beyond traditional hormone therapy. The program will analyze the limitations of current hormone therapy options and potential place in therapy of off-label non-hormonal options, while providing a deep dive into investigational NK3R and dual NK1/3 receptor antagonists. Participants will review safety and efficacy data pertaining to these emerging therapies and review strategies to lead shared decision-making conversations, dispel common misconceptions about menopausal health, and ensure patients have equitable access to the most appropriate, individualized therapies during this stage of life.
