Program Description
Vaccine hesitancy remains a significant public health challenge in the United States, especially with the evolution of new vaccine technologies such as mRNA platforms. Despite scientific advancements, skepticism persists among patients and health care providers. Pharmacists are uniquely positioned to address these misconceptions and promote public acceptance. The panelists will facilitate a discussion focusing on the latest scientific developments, regulatory guidelines, and best practices in immunization with mRNA technologies specifically. The program will delve into the historical context of vaccine development, highlighting the benefits and core mechanisms of mRNA technology. The strategic applications of mRNA technologies, including pandemic preparedness and therapeutic expansion, will be discussed alongside current and emerging mRNA vaccines. Panelists will also address commonly asked questions and provide pharmacists with resources and strategies to effectively communicate with patients, dispel misconceptions, and reduce barriers to vaccination.
