Uncontrolled moderate to severe asthma represents a persistent public health challenge, with substantial economic and quality-of-life burdens for patients. Moderate to severe asthma is characterized by frequent exacerbations and hospitalizations for both adult and pediatric populations. A primary concern in the current landscape is the continued overreliance on systemic corticosteroids, which presents severe cumulative risks including metabolic disorders, bone health issues, and growth suppression. To address these challenges, management strategies are shifting toward the use of precision biologics targeting type 2 inflammation, which offer a crucial steroid-sparing alternative for appropriate patients. This session aims to empower pharmacists to identify patients with uncontrolled asthma and monitor steroid exposure by providing them with the tools to analyze disease burden and interpret biomarkers for accurate patient phenotyping. The discussion will center on strategies pharmacists can implement to navigate reimbursement barriers and lead best practices for biologic integration to become proactive stewards of precision medicine within the multidisciplinary care team.

• Demonstrate best practices to support the pharmacist’s role on the asthma care team and improve biologic integration
