The rapid expansion of precision
medicine in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has fundamentally shifted the
treatment paradigm, as biomarker-directed targeted and immunotherapies
consistently demonstrate superior efficacy over traditional chemotherapy.
However, this progress introduces a significant challenge for the
multidisciplinary team in that many biomarker subgroups now have multiple
guideline-recommended frontline options, requiring clinicians to differentiate
between therapies with comparable efficacy profiles. To address these
complexities, this module provides oncology pharmacists with a structured
framework to navigate 11 key biomarker alterations in NSCLC, ranging from EGFR
mutations to emerging targets. Through a series of concise videos, participants
will learn standardized approaches to systematically weigh efficacy, safety,
and cost of treatment, with a specific focus on integrating patient-reported
outcomes and toxicity management into real-world decision-making. By applying these
practice-based insights and clinical pearls, pharmacists will be equipped to
lead evidence-driven therapy selection that optimizes both clinical outcomes
and tolerability for patients with NSCLC. The curriculum will be updated
quarterly, with videos detailing new FDA approvals and the latest shifts in the
biomarker-driven landscape.
