Program Description:
Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) are an important class of targeted anticancer therapies that link a monoclonal antibody to a cytotoxic payload, enabling delivery of treatment to selected tumor cells while expanding their use across hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. As ADC adoption has expanded, so have the complexities of safe use, especially because toxicity is shaped by target biology, linker stability, payload class, treatment context, and whether an ADC is used alone or in combination with other agents. Oncology pharmacists must understand how to differentiate ADC-related toxicities by mechanism and presentation, including gastrointestinal, hematologic, pulmonary, neurologic, and other systemic adverse events, as well as how to distinguish acute from delayed events and separate ADC toxicity from overlapping toxicities caused by prior or concurrent therapy. This webinar will emphasize evidence-based monitoring, Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE)-based grading, and escalation strategies that support early identification and prevention of severe adverse events, treatment interruptions, and unnecessary discontinuation. It will also highlight how pharmacists can build practical workflows for baseline and longitudinal monitoring, coordinate multidisciplinary supportive care, and use standardized documentation and decision support to improve consistency across settings. Because ADC toxicities can be complex, overlapping, and sometimes high risk, this webinar will emphasize strategies for oncology pharmacists to anticipate toxicity patterns, guide patient counseling, optimize supportive care, and ensure timely intervention to maintain safety and treatment delivery.
