New Oncology Therapy Approvals for 2025 (Pharmacist Credit)

Program Description

In 2025, several new medications were approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) with oncology indications. Pharmacists, as integral members of the health care team, must stay informed about these new approvals to provide optimal patient care. This activity will focus on the identification and review of selected new medications for cancers approved by the FDA in 2025. Understanding the indications along with a review of key characteristics of these medications, including their dosing regimens, administration methods, and safety profiles, is crucial for oncology pharmacists to recommend appropriate therapies and ensure patients receive the most effective treatments. This activity will equip pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with valuable insights into the latest approved oncology medications, so they may appropriately implement them into patient care to improve health outcomes. Staying current with these innovations is vital for oncology pharmacists to maintain their role as knowledgeable and trusted health care providers.
