Telehealth is a term that describes the use of electronic information and technologies to support remote health education and patient care. Federal and state laws and regulations provide direction on how to provide telehealth and telepharmacy services. It is important, as new technologies and approaches to telehealth emerge, that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are aware of the rules and regulations and can leverage best practices to improve patient care. This Inbook will discuss the laws and regulations around telehealth and telepharmacy and address emerging trends and best practices so that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians can help optimize patient care.
