Program Description:
Fibrosing interstitial lung diseases (F-ILD) are a heterogeneous and progressive group of pulmonary disorders characterized by irreversible fibrosis, worsening lung function, and a substantial clinical and economic burden. F-ILD are driven by shared yet variable mechanisms that lead to relentless disease progression, acute exacerbations, and significant comorbidities. Patients with F-ILD experience high morbidity and mortality, impaired quality of life, and frequent health care resource utilization, including hospitalizations, emergency department visits, and long-term oxygen therapy. Despite advances in disease-modifying treatments such as antifibrotics, unmet needs remain, particularly in early diagnosis, treatment optimization, and slowing progression across diverse ILD subtypes. Late-stage and emerging therapies, along with advances in biomarker development, signal a rapidly evolving treatment landscape. However, delayed diagnosis, undertreatment, and barriers to access including complex prior authorization processes, high out-of-pocket costs, and the need for multidisciplinary care contribute to poor clinical outcomes and escalating direct and indirect costs. Managed care strategies, including value-based frameworks, real-world evidence integration, specialty pharmacy support, and formulary management, play a critical role in improving access and aligning treatment with current evidence. This webinar will provide pharmacists and managed care professionals with the latest clinical data, guideline updates, and practical strategies to address these challenges, optimize treatment selection, and improve outcomes for patients with F-ILD.

- Evaluate recent clinical data on approved and emerging antifibrotic pharmacologic therapies for F-ILD to inform clinical decision-making and treatment selection.
